Question 2: Can a virtual image be photographed?
Ans: yes, a virtual image be photographed.
Question 3: What is the value of refractive index of air?
Answer: refractive index of air is 1. [The ratio of the sines of the angle of incidence and angle of refraction will be the same if the medium is the
same.].
Class 8 Question Answer:-
4: What is power. Write the S.I unit of power?
Ans: power of a lens is d ability of a lens to converge or diverge an incident rays of light. it is defined as the reciprocal of its focal length d = [1/f(m) ] Dioptre .
The S.I unit of power is Dioptre.
Question 5: What is power of sun glass?
Answer: sun glasses do not converge or diverge rays of light hence have no power.
Question 6: What are the two factors on which the lateral displacement of an emergent ray from a glass slab depends ?
Answer: the two factors on which the lateral displacement of an emergent Ray from a glass slab depends on (i) Angle of incidence (ii) Thickness of glass slab.

7: What are rods and cone?
Ans: There are two types of light sensitive sales present in the retina which are stimulated by light rays. They are rod cells and cone cells. Rod cells are sensitive to dim light and cone cells are sensitive to bright light light. This is because of the peculiarities in their pigments called rhodopsin and iodopsin.
In retina there is a place where visibility is maximum and it contains rod cells and cone cells both but cone cells are more than rod cells. Also there is a place where visibility is zero known as blind spot. Here rod cells and cone cells are absent.
Question 8: What is radius of plane mirror?
Ans: the radius of plane mirror is infinity.
Question 9: Why do we use convex surface for side view mirror?
Answer: we use convex surface for side view mirror because convex mirror always form virtual, smaller and upright image of object for wide range. Show the viewer can see large region behind it.
Class 8 Science:-
10: What is the power of a plane mirror?
Ans: The power of plane mirror is 0 because focal length is at infinity.
Question 11: When the angle of incidence is 90 degree , what is the angle of refraction?
Answer: When the angle of incidence is 90 degree then the angle of refraction is zero degree
Question 12: What is the magnification produced by a plane mirror?
Ans: Plane mirror cannot magnify image and has magnification 1 because height of image formed is equal to that of object.

Question 13: . Why do we prefer a convex mirror as a rear-view mirror in vehicles?
Ans. we use convex mirror as a real view mirror in vehicles because, it covers a wide rear field and forms small, erect and virtual image, close to the eye of the
driver of the vehicle. As a result, the driver can see wide region off road behind it's vehicle.
Question 14: Between which two points related to a concave mirror should an object be placed to obtain on a screen an image twice the size of the object?
Answer: Between centre of curvature and the principal focus.
Question 15: What is the minimum distance between an object and its real image in case of a concave mirror ?
Answer: when an object is at centre of curvature of a concave mirror then a real image is formed and it is formed at centre of curvature that is at same. As a result, distance between object and image is minimum that is zero.
Question 16: A book is placed between two mirrors that are at right angles to each other. One of the images formed does not show lateral inversion. Where is this image formed and why is it not laterally inverted?
